New Junk Sim!

Hello!
Junk will be opening the doors to a new mainstore sim at 10am on Saturday, 1st August 2015 and we would be absolutely thrilled if you could join us. A number of events will be taking place to celebrate both the new location, and our 2nd anniversary;

SALE:
A 50% off weekend sale will be applied to all non-gacha items from 10am, 1st August to 10am, 3rd August. We wish we could make this across the board, but we’re bound by understandable gacha pricing rules.

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST:
We are also holding a Photography Contest, open to all residents, which will run from 10am, 1st August to 10am, 8th August. Our favourite three submissions will be selected as winners and will receive cash prizes of L$10,000, L$5,000, and L$3,000 respectively (see the website link below for further info. and the submission form).

MUSIC:
In addition, there is also a stellar line-up of wonderful DJs and Live Performers on the 1st & 2nd of August. The scheduled times are as follows (SL time):

Petite Bowtique for Love Donna Flora

My daughter Ryleigh, owner of Petite Bowtique is also participating in the Love Donna Flora event and she made some really sweet and adorable matching mother and daughter dresses. You can also purchase the dresses separately. They are very cute and great for photos with your little one or fashionable enough to wear alone.

I had a lot of fun taking the pictures for these and it also makes me very proud of my daughter for participating in such a wonderful event. The Love Donna Flora event will open on July 25th @ 12:01 AM and close at midnight on August 11th. It will feature work from more than 100 creators with proceeds going to Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora. Curio’s Gala Phoenix is currently in the midst of legal issues which have resulted in her content being removed from the grid, pending the outcome of her legal battle. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) process in Second Life requires that when there is legal action taken against your content, Linden Lab will remove it from the grid until a ruling is made. Gala’s fellow content creators have come together to host a fundraiser to help with the enormous amount of legal fees she will have to bare in order to fight these baseless claims.

The fundraiser will be held from July 9-15, with a blogger preview on July 8th.

Some participants include Flowey, BareRose, Black Lace, Belleza, Ingenue, Laq, Luck Inc, One Bad Pixel, Gos, Truth, Bent, Fawn, Cupcake, evolve, Glam Affair, ely, Lassitude & Ennui, Zanzibar, Adorkable, Ikon, League and many more.

This fundraiser is not only to help Gala Phoenix, but to also take a stand for the community of content creators, for many of whom SL is their main source of income. This could happen to any one of us, and it’s necessary that we stand up and fight back to ensure that it doesn’t.

Relay For Life – YOU ARE ALL ROCKSTARS!

I just want to say that it means so much to me to see this kind of help being given to the American Cancer Society. People say that Second Life is just a game but when I see stuff like this I beg to differ. It’s so much more than a game. We do good things as a community and guess what even the smallest contribution helps people. GO HERE to check out the totals.

Thank you to all of you that have made stuff and donated it. Thank you to all of you that have bought stuff. Thank you to the organizers of this event, thank you to all the volunteers. Thank you to everyone a part of this because you all make a difference in reaching this goal. It’s amazing to me. In just a few short days you can notably see how this has helped and will continue to help through the duration of this event.
