League’s Isla at Skin Addictions Skin Showcase Event

A single skin preview of what is to come from League, one of my favorite skin places is this skin called Isla.. with a smokey dark eye. One thing that I find particularly pretty are the eyes on this skin and the little bit of painted lash. The nose seems a bit different and the lips are as lovely as ever.. I am very excited for the full release of this skin whenever it comes out.

This beautiful mesh dress is from Ison. The hair is from Lamb. The eyes are from Ikon. My poses are from !bang, and the house in the background is the newest sweet little cottage from Funky Junk. Now just a minute..

So, there is something that has been on my mind ever since reading this claim from Hush Skins against Curio. Is it real? Is it fake? I don’t know and neither do you. How do you know for sure?

I can say though that ever since entering SL at the end of 2006 Gala Phoenix is a name that I knew. I was familiar with her skins and I wore them. After awhile her store turned into Curio and I followed her there and started to wear those skins too. I’ve been wearing her skins for several years now and I just can’t fathom how these claims could be true or even legit. I have not seen anything yet with her side of the story.

On the far left we have a Curio skin and the other two are from Hush who are at the Skin Addiction Showcase right now and that is where I got these. I wanted to see how they matched up against the Curio. Well the bodies are identical and the tones are different. The Hush Sugar Tone compared to Curio’s Petal is different and so are the faces. Hush’s skin looks like it was attacked with a powder puff and it does not match the scalp part, in fact there is a dent there and a noticeable seam where on the Curio skin it is smooth. Now why would someone go through the trouble of making a body like that and not blending it as seamlessly as Curio does. Why does the Hush skin look like it was pasted on and no one bothered to blend it? Look at the compassion below, am I wrong?

Now please just take this post as something to think about. I just really like Curio skins and have for a long time. I don’t know for sure what happened, I don’t think any of us do but before you (some of you) go attacking Gala Phoenix please think about how you would like to be treated in this situation. Personally I have only just heard of Hush skin and to be honest anyone can make a claim.. but does she have any real proof that this claim is legit?

Mudhoney @ the Second Life Home and Garden Expo!

Mudhoney has released a fantastic new mesh set at the Second Life Home and Garden Expo. The set comes in neutral linen colors with accents. The prims are rather modest and the set really lends a sense of realism to the room.

The Laura Sofa is a mesh sofa with 15 singles animations and 12 couple animations. The Laura Chair has 9 animations and the Chevron Pouffe also has 9 animations. This will go with almost anything that you have in your house and looks very smart doing so.

The house in the background is the lovely Collie home from Cheeky Pea. The second life home and garden expo is to benefit the relay for life and this runs until May 28th ending at 10pm SLT so get in while you can and help support this worthwhile event.

Lily v1 from Belleza at the Skin Addiction skin showcase!

Tricky Boucher of Belleza has released a very lovely version of Lily v1.

The first Lily V2 was released a few weeks ago but dare I say that I love the makeups on this one even more than the first – especially the sexy cat eyes with the cherry lips. Don’t get my wrong – both versions of Lily are beautiful but I’ve really taken to this version of Lily at the Skin Addiction skin showcase. The body of the skin is absolutely and decadently feminine, Mister Boucher is a skin maker that is in touch with the female anatomy, it’s simple gorgeous.

There are only ten makeups currently available but I’d be looking for a full release of Lily V1 very soon. The heart poses in this post are from Adorkable at the My Attic event at the Deck.

About the Skin Addiction Showcase:
The Skin Showcase event, is a special and new type of event for designers to showcase exclusive skins that they feel best represent their brand. Set in a park like setting with trails leading people to explore and discover perhaps new to them brands while also grabbing new skins from some of their favorite brands.

Also gifts will be available to members of the Skin Addiction group, which has open enrollment. Just need to wear the Skin Addiction group tag to receive them.

This event is beautifully laid out and for me there was no lag. Many Kudos to the organizers of the event.

The event opens on May 25th and lasts 2 weeks, till June 10th.

Sunday Bath Night

Sometimes you just need a good bath and this new bathroom set from Cheeky Pea is lovely and non primmy, my favorite part is the shower curtain. Not sure why but you must go check this out at the Expo.

Cheeky Pea’s Kitchen @ The Second Life Home and Garden Expo

This year for the Second Life Home and Garden Expo, Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea has worked her heart out. Not only did she make the fabulous Collie Home she also made a brand new Kitchen and Bathroom set. In this post I am showing the brand new Hampton Kitchen which is worth checking out as her exhibit at the Expo shines above and beyond expectations.

Now I snagged this bit of info from her Flickr page for those of you into the primmy important bits:

To wear this dress and make the textures rez you must edit something and then select it and go to the texture tab and wait for it to load. Without doing that I could not load the dress but a friend tipped me off to that secret. My poses in this post are from /Geez/.

What’s Next? @ The SL Home and Garden Expo!

First before I tell you that you must go and visit What Next’s display and sponsored sim at the Second Life Home and Garden expo I want to tell you about !Bang’s Birthday Gacha Cupcakes. For just 22L you can get this cute little cupcake that fits in your mouth and help celebrate the store !Bang’s second year anniversary.

So with all of the home decorating that is in the air, I am inspired me to redecorate my living room with this beautiful set from What Next. The Charlotte Living Room set is all mesh. The expo is filled with creative and beautiful sets but this one stood out to me as a favorite.

The animations in the furniture are many and it’s easy to find a nice sit or to curl up and read a good book or maybe even type on your laptop. What really strikes me is the vivid color and how alive this set looks. There is also a chair and footstool set called the Charlotte Chair & A Half Set with some adorable couple poses.

The house in the background is the Collie house which is new from Cheeky Pea found only at the SL Home and Garden Expo. A post is soon to come.

reBourne @ the SL Home and Garden Expo

The Second Life Home and Garden Expo which is a Relay for Life event opens today May 19th at 6am SLT, and remain open 24 hours each day until it closes on May 28th at 10pm SLT.

I was granted early access to look around and I stopped at the reBourne display and fell in love with a beautiful dome house and tried the best I could to capture it’s beauty.

But you see, this house much like all of the homes by reBourne must be seen in person to really experience. It is a sensory delight. The textures are perfect, there are sounds and for me someone who cannot see shadows in Second Life yet I love the shadows that I can see in the house from the sublime texturing.

If you are looking for a beautiful beach home whether on land or in the sky this would be perfect for you. This house is flawless, you must see it at the expo.

There are 14 sims to explore so if you are in the market for a beautiful new home there are plenty to suit anyone’s taste and budget. It’s just a matter of checking it all out and taking in all the beauty that can be found.

Stumbled my bum unto some sales!

You know, designers are making such cute things lately that I can’t keep up. Stumblebum’s Insanity round that began on May 15th has many cute things and I’m featuring the top and short set from e! and the dresser and picture frames from Cheeky Pea. The stuff is amazing and well the colors are very bright and uplifting.

I’m also wearing brand new hair from Elikatira called Indulge and Belleza’s brand new beautiful skin Lily. My feet are from Slink – the best mesh feet maker on the grid.
